About

The more I learn, the more I do not know.

I am a Professor in the Division of Information Technology & Sciences at Champlain College in Burlington, VT. I teach Computer Science and Software Engineering courses.

I was raised in a small Midwest town and spent my early life in central Illinois. Thankfully, I now live in Vermont, a truly beautiful part of the world. I grew up around forests, farms, machinery, church, and hard work. My teenage years coincided with the birth of the World Wide Web and the proliferation of personal computers, software, and hacking lore. The result has been a path that has allowed me to learn in academic settings, work in interesting organizations, travel the world, tinker with technologies, create entertaining artifacts, and eat many good things.

By education and trade I am a programmer and engineer. My academic interests are interdisciplinary. I am a technologist who chooses to think critically about technology and encourages others to do the same.
